Wallpaper* Handmade – August 2010
For its most ambitious issue to date, Wallpaper* has brought together and briefed some of the world’s leading designers, craftsmen and manufacturers to produce unique furniture, fittings, foodstuffs, fashion and more. The August Handmade issue is dedicated to this astonishing collection of one-off designs and delicacies, chronicling their production and presentation at this year’s Salone del Mobile.
Paper bag, by Saskia and Stefan Diez
Inspired by her award-winning ‘Papier’ bags, we asked Saskia Diez and her husband Stefan to produce the ultimate lightweight travel bag. Eschewing leather or reinforced textiles, Diez turned to Tyvek, a synthetic paper that is extremely light but robustly water- and tear-proof. Perfect as hand luggage, the bags come with compartments designed specifically to carry your Wallpaper* City Guide and a copy of your favourite magazine.
