Spinel is a vibrant gemstone known for its striking colors, ranging from deep reds and pinks to blues, purples, and even black. Often associated with revitalization and energy, spinel is believed to inspire resilience, calmness, and clarity, making it a symbol of strength and renewal.
This gemstone is found in various locations worldwide, including Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Madagascar. Historically mistaken for rubies due to its intense color, spinel is highly prized today for its brilliance and rarity. Its durable nature makes it perfect for fine jewelry, blending beauty with meaning.
These stones are from a mine in Myanmar, that is closed. So this is the last batch of stones from there. Each ring is unique. In the first picture you also see the tourmaline solitaire rings and tourmaline twin rings.

With their rarity and beauty Spinels often rival or even surpass some precious stones like rubies or sapphires. Historically, spinels were mistaken for rubies, and famous gems such as the “Black Prince’s Ruby” in the British Crown Jewels were later identified as spinels.
Intense reds (often compared to ruby) and vibrant pinks are highly prized, along with vivid cobalt blues, which are exceptionally rare. Spinels are less abundant than many other gemstones, especially in fine-quality colors, making them sought after by collectors. As their uniqueness and history become better known, spinels have grown in popularity and value, especially in high-end jewelry.
